Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings

8 wing sections, thawed (drumettes and/or flats)*
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon melted butter
¼ cup hot sauce
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)


Preheat oven to 400F. Line the bottom of a roasting pan or cookie sheet with foil. Place a roasting or cooling rack on top.
In a medium bowl, toss together the wings and oil. Place wings onto rack in the pan and bake 50-55 minutes until cooked through and skin is crispy.
Meanwhile, make the sauce. In a medium bowl, whisk together the butter, hot sauce, salt, pepper, and cayenne (if using).
When the wings are finished, toss with the sauce and serve.
