2 carrots, sliced
2 small onions, sliced
2 celery stalks,sliced
2 garlic cloves, smashed
1 whole fryer chicken
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground pepper
2 (32 ounce) boxes of chicken broth or chicken broth, water and white wine combination
½ teaspoon dried basil
Put carrots, celery, onion and garlic in slow cooker. Place whole chicken on top of vegetables. Sprinkle with seasonings and pour liquid in to pot.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Remove the chicken and debone, then add chicken back to pot. Serve with your choice of pasta or rice. Top with avocado (optional.)
